Lumar is a technical SEO and website intelligence platform, rebranded from DeepCrawl in September 2022. Scores diverge by solicitation: G2 (4.6/5, 101 reviews) and TrustRadius (8/10, 17 ratings) are heavily incentivized, while the unlabeled Gartner pool sits lower at 4.3/5.

What Users Say About Lumar
Reviewers across G2, Capterra and TrustRadius credit Lumar’s crawl depth and technical issue detection, while cost and a lack of competitor-metrics features recur as complaints on multiple platforms.
G2: 4.6/5 (101 reviews, checked September 2026)
This listing merges reviews filed under both the “Lumar” and “Deepcrawl” names on a single product page. Star distribution: 76 five-star, 21 four-star, 2 three-star, 2 two-star, 0 one-star. Of the two most recent reviews sampled, the one dated May 8, 2025 carries the “Validated Reviewer / Incentivized / Source: G2 invite” tag stack; the one dated December 9, 2025 carries only the “Validated Reviewer” tag, with no incentive label shown.
What users praise:
- Technical analysis reports described as competitive with other tools in the market
- Identifying linked and unlinked pages through the crawl
- Cloud-based scheduling that does not tie up local resources
Where users push back:
- Limited competitor-metrics data, since the tool targets technical SEO rather than competitive benchmarking
- Volume of data and reports to work through
This review carries only the “Validated Reviewer” tag on G2, with no incentive label shown, dated December 9, 2025.
“I find Lumar’s technical analysis report to be really good and quite competitive in the market. It is especially helpful in identifying pages that are linked and unlinked through the crawl, which is great for getting to know any website.”
- Akshada B., Senior Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) (G2 )
Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice: 4.3/5 (12 reviews, checked September 2026)
These three listings share the same underlying Gartner Digital Markets sample rather than three independent pools: identical 4.3/5 rating and identical 12-review count across all three. Capterra’s own page notes “Last updated August 26th, 2026.” Reviews in this pool span both brand eras, including a 2022 review that names “DeepCrawl” directly in the body and a 2023 review naming “Lumar,” so the figure reflects both the pre-rebrand and current product. Capterra and GetApp both disclose they may earn a referral fee on vendor click-throughs, a monetization conflict distinct from review solicitation. Sampled reviews in this pool were not labeled incentivized.
What users praise:
- Premium, well-presented audit reports that are easy for newer SEOs to understand
- Finding mistakes and problems on a website through the crawl
Where users push back:
- Cost, described as expensive relative to competitors
This review, describing the product under its prior DeepCrawl name, was posted May 13, 2022.
“We were using DeepCrawl for our customers to crawl their website and find mistakes. It is really helpful to find mistakes or problems on the website but it is expensive to use it.”
- Anil C., Marketing Executive, Marketing and Advertising (Capterra )
A second review from the same pool, describing the current Lumar product, was posted February 8, 2023.
“Overall, Lumar is a premium website audit experience. Everything looks and feels appealing. All the metrics that are produced in a report are well sign posted and explained, making it easy for new SEO’s to understand what information they have.”
- Chris C., SEO Specialist, Package/Freight Delivery (Capterra )
TrustRadius: 8/10 (17 ratings, 7 full reviews, checked September 2026)
TrustRadius shows 17 total ratings but only 7 reviews with readable text. All 7 of those full-text reviews carry the “Incentivized” tag, meaning the entire readable sample here is vendor-invited. The listing also merges both brand eras: dates on the reviews read run 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2025, with roughly half explicitly describing the pre-rebrand “DeepCrawl” product rather than the current Lumar platform.
What users praise:
- Finding technical issues on a site and showing clearly how each issue is presented
Where users push back:
- Limited fit for scanning new opportunities, keyword positions or site-wide metrics on large sites, with no SERP data shown
This review is labeled Incentivized, dated January 29, 2025.
“If someone is looking for a SEO tool that excels in finding technical issues for a site, Lumar is a fantastic choice. Not only does it outline everything that’s wrong, it does a much better job than other tools as to showing you how it the issue is presented.”
- Billy Heany, Organic Search Manager, Product Management at GroupM (5001-10,000 employees) (TrustRadius )
Trustpilot (lumar.io and deepcrawl.com): no reviews under either name (checked September 2026)
Both domains carry claimed or existing Trustpilot profiles, but each shows 0 reviews and a 0.0 rating, with “0 reviews in the last 12 months” on the lumar.io listing. No score is reported for either. Lumar is sold enterprise-to-enterprise via demo and sales contact rather than self-serve signup, which is consistent with a consumer review platform showing no activity under either brand name.
Where the Review Platforms Disagree
The gap here runs the opposite direction from what a skimmer might expect. G2 (4.6/5, 101 reviews) and TrustRadius (8/10, 17 ratings) carry the highest scores on this page, and both samples are substantially vendor-solicited: G2’s sampled recent reviews are tagged “Incentivized / Source: G2 invite,” and 100% of TrustRadius’s 7 readable full reviews are tagged “Incentivized.” The Gartner pool shared by Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice sits lower at 4.3/5 on 12 reviews, and the sampled reviews in that pool carried no incentive label.
That is a real, labeled difference in how each sample was collected, not a judgment about which number is more trustworthy. Readers should weigh the incentive labels themselves.
Two of the three client samples (Capterra/GetApp/Software Advice and TrustRadius) also blend reviews written before and after the September 2022 rebrand from DeepCrawl to Lumar, so part of each of those samples describes a product under its previous name rather than the current platform.
Lumar Pricing
Read at lumar.io/pricing on September 4, 2026. The page carries no published tiers, no monthly or annual figures, and no currency. It is a lead-capture form only, asking for name, email, company, region and job title under the heading “Get Lumar pricing.” Pricing is fully sales-gated.
No third-party directory contradicted this. Software Advice’s own profile states “Pricing available upon request,” and Capterra and GetApp show no numeric price either, so there is no directory figure to report here.
Lumar as a Vendor: Stability Signals
| Source | Score | Reviews | Last checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glassdoor | 4.1/5 | 50 | September 2026 |
| Comparably | Not verified (page blocked) | — | September 2026 |
Lumar rebranded from DeepCrawl on September 29, 2022, confirmed via the company’s own PR wire announcement and a corporate parent notice. Its parent company, GMO TECH Holdings, is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth market, per GMO TECH’s own investor relations notice.
Glassdoor rates Lumar 4.1/5 based on 50 ratings, checked September 2026 (the page’s own FAQ separately states “53 anonymous reviews”; both figures are shown on the page). 79% of reviewers say they would recommend it to a friend, and 86% approve of the CEO. Category scores run from Work/Life balance at 4.4 down to Diversity and inclusion at 3.9. Reviewer titles sampled include a current Head of Delivery rating the company 5.0 and one anonymous 2.0-rated review titled “Overpromise, underdeliver,” though the body text of that review was not read in full.
Comparably could not be verified. Two attempts to load the Comparably profile returned a generic app error and then an explicit access-denied response, checked September 2026. This is reported as blocked, not as an absent profile.
Indeed carries no confirmed profile for this vendor. An Indeed employer page titled “Lumar” returned reviews describing an unrelated labor-subcontracting business, not the SEO software company. No genuine Indeed data for Lumar the software vendor was located.
No layoff, acquisition or leadership-churn signal surfaced in the material read. Read alongside the client-side scores above, Glassdoor’s 4.1/5 on 50 ratings is a separately sourced employer signal, not evidence explaining the client-side numbers.
Do You Need the Tool or the Outcome?
Lumar’s own pricing page carries no published figures at all, since every tier is sales-gated behind a lead form. Whatever the eventual quote, the licence is usually the cheap part next to the headcount needed to run crawls, triage technical issues and turn the output into ranking and pipeline gains every week.
