Microsoft Clarity Reviews: What Users Actually Say (2026)

Microsoft Clarity Reviews: What Users Actually Say (2026)

Microsoft Clarity is Microsoft’s free behavior-analytics tool at clarity.microsoft.com: heatmaps, session recordings and AI session summaries. Not to be confused with seoClarity or Broadcom’s Clarity PPM. Review platforms cluster tightly at 4.5 to 4.8/5, a gap driven largely by one thing: nobody pays for it.

Microsoft Clarity Review Overview

  • G2: 4.5/5 on 55 reviews, checked September 2026, multiple reviews carry an explicit “Incentivized, Source: G2 invite” label.
  • Capterra / GetApp / Software Advice: 4.8/5 on 57 reviews, one Gartner Digital Markets pool republished three times, checked September 2026, a mix of unlabeled organic reviews and at least one gift-card-incentivized review.
  • TrustRadius: no dedicated Microsoft Clarity product page found via direct site search, confirmed absent September 4, 2026.
  • Trustpilot: no clarity.microsoft.com profile found via direct URL or site search, confirmed absent September 4, 2026.

What Users Say About Microsoft Clarity

Both scored platforms report a narrow, positive range, and both samples repeatedly cite the same reason: the product costs nothing, so there is nothing to complain about on price.

G2: 4.5/5 (55 reviews, checked September 2026)

Several sampled reviews carry G2’s own “Incentivized” tag with source “G2 invite,” meaning this is a solicited sample, not one G2 users volunteered to leave unprompted.

What users praise:

  • Easy setup, described as “just adding a code”
  • Session recordings for behavior analysis and heatmaps for spotting weak page sections
  • Free price point with no page-speed impact

Where users push back:

  • Traffic-count precision, including duplicated user counts
  • Weaker Google Analytics integration than expected
  • Limited advanced reporting and occasional session-recording sync or filtering issues

“I like that Microsoft Clarity is free and does not slow down page rendering… It could be better integrated with Google Analytics but I understand that they are competition in some way.”

  • Rafał M., Vice President, Small-Business (G2 )

Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice: 4.8/5 (57 reviews, checked September 2026)

These three are one review pool, not three independent samples. GetApp and Software Advice show the identical 46/11/0/0/0 star distribution to the digit, and reviewer names and text (including Kiran B.) recur verbatim across Capterra and GetApp. Treat this as a single sample republished three times under Gartner Digital Markets ownership, not three separate corroborations. Capterra and GetApp both disclose a referral fee on vendor links. The underlying data is mixed: Capterra’s JSON shows at least one review tagged "incentivized":"NominalGift", while Software Advice explicitly labels other reviews in the same pool “Organic… No incentive was offered.”

What users praise:

  • Free plus easy Google Tag Manager and script setup
  • Heatmaps and session recordings valuable for CRO work
  • Traffic and location reporting useful for reporting up to management

Where users push back:

  • No live chat or helpline for instant support resolution
  • Basic-analytics-only: no A/B testing, no e-commerce tracking, no funnel visualization
  • Data-processing delay, limited historical data, and occasional session-recording sync issues

“Microsoft Clarity provides a massive amount of data for any website to see how visitors interact with your site and consistently helps us identify weak spots in our funnels and UI/UX.”

  • David V., Lead Developer, Information Technology and Services (Capterra )

TrustRadius and Trustpilot: no profile found

TrustRadius has no dedicated Microsoft Clarity product page; a direct site search on September 4, 2026 surfaced only unrelated products (Sonar Clarity, Consensus Clarity, Clarity AI and others), none of them Microsoft’s tool. Trustpilot has no clarity.microsoft.com entry either: a direct URL returned Trustpilot’s own 404, and a site search across 202 Microsoft-family listings on the same date turned up microsoft.com, azure.com and windows.com but nothing for Clarity. Both are reported as absent, not as low scores.

Where the Review Platforms Disagree

G2’s 4.5/5 on 55 reviews and the Gartner pool’s 4.8/5 on 57 reviews sit about 0.3 points apart, the smallest gap in this review series, and both samples skew toward small-business marketers and agencies using the tool for CRO and heatmap work.

That narrowness is itself the finding: Microsoft Clarity is free, so the billing, contract, renewal and value-for-money complaints that usually separate one platform’s sample from another’s are structurally absent from this corpus. Nearly every “pro” bullet across both platforms opens with some version of “it’s free.” A reader weighing this 4.8 against a paid tool’s lower score elsewhere is not comparing like with like, because one sample can complain about price and the other cannot. There is no Trustpilot profile to set against these, so no B2B-versus-consumer gap can be claimed here.

Microsoft Clarity Pricing

Read at clarity.microsoft.com on 2026-09-04. Microsoft Clarity is free forever, with no paid tier: the vendor states “Free forever,” “no limits on traffic,” unlimited projects, sites and team members, and no credit card required. Included at no cost: session recordings, heatmaps, AI summaries and chat, AI visibility tracking, “brand agents,” and mobile SDK analytics for Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native. There is no metered overage and no enterprise tier, so there is nothing gated by seat count or usage cap.

Microsoft Clarity as a Vendor: Stability Signals

No employer or vendor-stability score is published for this section. Microsoft Clarity has no dedicated employer profile on Glassdoor or Comparably; only Microsoft-wide company profiles exist, covering the whole company across every business line, and a company-wide figure would not represent the small team maintaining one free tool. A separate Comparably profile literally named “Clarity” belongs to an unrelated Berkeley startup (clairity.io) and is not Microsoft’s product.

For a free product, the more relevant purchase risk is continuity rather than company failure. No evidence of Clarity being deprecated or sunset was found in this pass. That check has not been independently verified against Microsoft’s own product-retirement documentation, so it is reported here as an absence of evidence, not as a guarantee the product is safe.

Do You Need the Tool or the Outcome?

Microsoft Clarity’s price tag tells you almost nothing about whether it will move your pipeline: the licence costs $0, but reading heatmaps, watching session recordings and turning what you find into shipped fixes still takes a team. That’s the actual cost of using a free analytics tool well. A tool this cheap only pays off if someone is acting on what it shows every week, and that work sits with whoever runs growth day to day, not with the tool itself.
